John Grindrod: A look under the production hood of the LCC play

Despite all the negatives of this past year caused by something none of us would have ever thought possible, it seems that there occasionally can be found some silver linings. Such was the case for the Lima Central Catholic seniors who bonded and delivered a terrific play, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” on last month’s second weekend.
As for the T-Bird silver lining, for the first time in the history of Veterans Memorial Civic Center, a high school was able to use Lima’s grandest stage for a class play. As to how a venue that has seen scores of professional Broadway-caliber performers present their talents many times over the 30-plus years the facility has been open, the play’s producer, Jim O’Neill, points to two factors.

February 11, 2021LITTLETON Despite a dramatic start to last Thursday s deliberative session, residents passed the proposed $10,285,000 municipal budget unchallenged. However, a warrant article about the Littleton Water and Light Department s operating budget drew extended dialogue from voters.
Exactly like the last two years, a motion was made from the floor during early proceedings to approve all social service warrant articles into one vote for inclusion on the ballot. Yet unlike previous sessions, opponents were outspoken as they challenged the legality of such a move.
Board Chair Carrie Gendreau explained the motion.
She said, Because of COVID this year, we chose not to have those organizations go out and get the signatures.
