Ok so what does the Hudson Valley have in common with like all of McDonalds Restaurants? Is it something more than the many locations where you can get your Big-Mac and your Egg McMuffin? Well, yes, sort of.
Two of the top three Chef s that work in the McDonalds Test Kitchen or Innovation Kitchen graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. One of them even worked in a local Rhinebeck restaurant (The Terrapin) while they were going to school in Hyde Park.

In honor of National Caramel Day, which was yesterday April 5th, McDonald s announced a new (to the US) McFlurry flavor:
Caramel Brownie. The Caramel Brownie McFlurry features vanilla soft serve, brownie pieces and caramel.
This McFlurry won t be available until May 3rd and will only be available for a limited time, while supplies last.
The McDonald s Senior Director of Culinary, Chad Schafer, said: As our fans rejoice in the changing of the seasons, we’re excited to give them a new way to enjoy our most iconic dessert. In fact, the flavors in our new Caramel Brownie McFlurry are inspired by that first-warm-day-of-the-year feeling. The cool and creamy soft serve mixed with fudgy brownie pieces and sweet, gooey caramel makes every refreshing bite worth savoring.
