West Reading man fatally shot in city while driving with mother in car, police say

A West Reading man was fatally shot while driving a car with his mother Thursday afternoon, Reading police said Friday. Dominique Lane, 28, was shot at least once in the 500 block of North 12th Street about 1:15 p.m., investigators said. Mortally wounded, he continued to drive until the car crashed at 12th and Buttonwood streets, a little more than a block away, they said. - Advertisement - Police and fire department medic units responded to a report of a man shot and found Lane on the ground. His mother wasn t injured. Lane was taken to the Reading Hospital trauma center. A staff doctor pronounced him dead at 2:21 p.m. Thursday.

A man found dead in his Exeter Township home this week was killed by a single stab wound and his death has been ruled a homicide, Berks County detectives said Friday. Terance M. Myers Sr., 35, of Hillside Road suffered a penetrating stab wound to the left side of his chest Monday, according to an autopsy performed by a forensic pathologist Tuesday. District Attorney John T. Adams has said the killing was domestic-violence related. - Advertisement - Myers lived in the home along with several other adults and children, investigators said. The homicide investigation remains active, and the district attorney’s office said it will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.

Berks County woman accused of killing live-in partner

A 38-year-old Berks County woman is facing homicide and aggravated assault charges after allegedly stabbing her live-in partner in a domestic incident Sunday, the Berks County District Attorney s Office announced Tuesday. Jillian Rae Blimline, of Sinking Spring, is charged with Murder of the First Degree, Murder of the Third Degree, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possessing the Instrument of Crime, prosecutors said. She is accused of stabbing Chad Allen Macwilliam, 39, who lived with her in her Maywood Avenue home in Sinking Spring. According to prosecutors, South Heidelberg Township Police were dispatched to Blimline s home at about 9:06 p.m., after receiving a 911 call from a woman.
