Will Changan Uni T be Successful in Pakistan? [Opinion]
Changan Pakistan is the talk of the town these days, following the news of it testing three new vehicles in Pakistan. The photos of the Uni T SUV, the Oshan X7 SUV, and the F70 pickup truck began making rounds on the internet last week and have been a hot topic of discussion.
Although which of these cars will be launched here first has not yet been revealed, all the signs point to the Uni T SUV. The number one reason is the fact that compact crossover SUVs are all the rage in Pakistan these days. Secondly, it has garnered the most attention from the people due to its futuristic design, and thirdly, Changan Pakistan itself began releasing teasers with three keywords: “Future, Forward, Forever” that fit the Uni T SUV as it is a fairly new product.
The 1.5-litre turbocharged small crossover Uni-T falls in the category of Kia Sportage, Toyota CH-R, and Nissan Juke. Meanwhile, Oshan X7, which is also 1.5 turbocharged but a bit bigger and comparable to MG Motors’ MG-HS and Hyundai Tucson
The 1.9 litre Turbo Charged Hunter is comparable to Isuzu D-Max and Toyota Hilux. The company has confirmed that it has been testing the three vehicles on Pakistan roads.
Chinese Changan entered the country in partnership with Master Motors, introduced its sedan called Alsvin in January 2021. It is the cheapest sedan in the country. The plant has an annual production capacity of 30,000, twice that of KIA s.
Changan Teases the Launch of Another Car in Pakistan
Changan Pakistan released a series of cryptic teasers over the weekend hinting at an upcoming car.
One of the main teasers that have now also become the cover photo for the automaker’s official Facebook page reads: “Future, Forward, Forever”.

Later on, photos with the taglines “The Future is more than just pipedreams & buzzwords” and “Forward isn’t just a direction. It’s a state of mind” were also posted, which could be references to a new direction that the company is planning to take.
These statements were followed by more directions like “Watch this space to discover what we’re up to” and “Guess what our next push forward will bring for #Pakistani roads?”, and seem to point towards the arrival of a new product of Changan Pakistan.
