The Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors are turning professional, the team announced Tuesday, March 9.
“We have a little announcement to make: The Sta Lucia Lady Realtors will be taking on a new challenge as we officially join the Premier Volleyball League today!” the Twitter post read, accompanied by a video of their athletes.
“This is something new. This is exciting for the team and the fans.”
The announcement came a few hours after fellow Philippine Superliga team Chery Tiggo Pro 7 Crossovers disclosed they are also joining the PVL in the upcoming Open Conference set May 8.
Founded in 2017, the Lady Realtors played in the Superliga with a best finish of fifth place in the 2018 Grand Prix.
STA. Lucia is also moving from the Philippine Super Liga to the Premier Volleyball League.
The Lady Realtors announced on Tuesday that they will be part of the PVL Open Conference tentatively set on May 8 under a bubble format at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
Sta. Lucia made the announcement hours after PVL president Ricky Palou confirmed that the Chery Tiggo Crossovers expressed their desire to play in their league.

Rumors surfaced in January that the Lady Realtors were talks with the PVL but the club said it remained committed to the PSL, even fielding two teams in the Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup last week in Subic.

Some Premier Volleyball League teams have reportedly started training after local government units of San Juan City and Mandaluyong have given them the go signal.

The Cignal HD Spikers are taking their acts to the Premier Volleyball League.
The team officially announced this move on social media Wednesday, March 3, joining the list of squads that include sister team PLDT in the Open Conference tentatively scheduled in May.
“We are excited to announce that the Cignal HD Spikers are officially joining the Premier Volleyball League! #TeamAwesome #RiseHigher,” the post read, accompanied by a poster photo featuring Rachel Daquis, Jheck Dionela and Ranya Musa.
The team has been competing in the Philippine Superliga since 2013, boasting of a co-championship title in the 2017 Invitational, three runner-up finishes and four bronze-medal feats.
