STA. Lucia is also moving from the Philippine Super Liga to the Premier Volleyball League. The Lady Realtors announced on Tuesday that they will be part of the PVL Open Conference tentatively set on May 8 under a bubble format at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna. Sta. Beach volleyball action fires off in Subic

SUBIC – After 11 months of inactivity, volleyball is finally back. The Philippine Superliga (PSL) formally makes a historic return as eight teams clash for pride and glory in the 2021 Gatorade-Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup starting Friday at the Subic Bay sand courts. With no reported case of coronavirus infection out of 56 players, coaches and league staff, it’s all systems go for this special bubble tourney that is being held in cooperation with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) Region 3. Action fires off at 8 a.m. with Bang Pineda and Jonah Sabete of Sta. Lucia 2 coming in as heavy favorites when they collide with Arianne Luna Alarcon and Christina Canares of Kennedy Solar Energy-PetroGazz in Pool A.

Senior Reporter AFTER experiencing some delay, the Philippine Superliga (PSL) Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup finally pushes through this weekend at the sand courts of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority in Zambales. Originally set to take place in November, the tournament was deferred to a later date because of the impending threat by Typhoon Ulysses then. The Challenge Cup, presented by Gatorade, will be a three-day event beginning on Friday and feature eight competing teams. It will be the first volleyball event to take place since restrictions were put in place by authorities last year to guard against the coronavirus; something not lost to the organizers of the event, which is why they made sure they covered everything needed so as to ensure the safe conduct of the tournament.
