Beverlyn Lomax Pepper had four great loves: faith, family, friends and flowers. On April 2, 2021, surrounded and sustained by all four, she left this world. She left it immeasurably better for having inhabited it.
Beverlyn was born in the Mississippi Delta town of Greenwood, Mississippi, to Clifton Lamar Lomax and DeLeslyn Morgan Lomax. The genesis of her unusual name (âBeverlyn,â with an ânâ) was her motherâs unusual nameâDeLeslyn. They shared the ân.â (Later, they would share a passion for their professionâteaching elementary school.) Six years after Beverlyn was born, her sister Fay joined the family. While Beverlyn started out in the Greenwood public schools, when World War II came and Cliff went overseas to serve, the family moved to the tiny town of Itta Bena, Mississippi to live with Beverlynâs maternal Grandmother and Grandaddy Morgan.

Atmos Energy is responding to a natural gas outage caused by a supplier’s transmission line that was damaged by a third-party construction crew late Tuesday evening.
The supplier’s pipeline feeds natural gas to the Atmos Energy distribution system serving Buena Vista, Colorado. The outage is expected to affect a smaller portion of the population, approximately 200 residential customers living along County Road 361 and North Highway 24 on the north and west side of town.
The supplier is currently working to resolve the issue.
Beginning Wednesday morning, residents may see Atmos Energy trucks throughout the area performing the restoration process.“We expect the restoration process will continue throughout the day, and affected customers will not have natural gas service during this time,” said Dan Higgins, Atmos Energy Operations Supervisor. “The safety of our customers, employees, and our system is our number one priority. He was born April 14, 1948, in Denver, to Charles J. Forster Sr. and Violet (McClure) Forster.Â
Friends and family said he always said the business life he was exposed to from his day of birth destined him to become a businessman in his adult life.
He grew up as an inner-city kid, developing independence at an early age. He traveled Denver and the surrounding areas for the price of a bus token and transfer ticket. Â
He graduated in 1966 from West High School in Denver.Â
Friends and family said he was always convinced that a chance meeting with a dean at the University of Denver led him down the college path and his final graduation with a bachelor of science in business from DU.
