Courts Watch: St Cloud man, 25, sentenced for aiding sexual assault

Jacob Robert Darchuk, 31, of St. Cloud, was sentenced April 22 to two years in prison, stayed for five years, for one felony count of domestic assault. One felony count of domestic assault was dismissed. If he breaks terms of probation, he could go to prison. Darchuk was also sentenced in another case to three years in prison, stayed for five years, for one felony count of violating a domestic no contact order and two years and eight months, stayed, for one felony count of violating a no contact order within 10 years of the first of two or more convictions. Five felony counts of violating a no contact order within 10 years of the first of two or more convictions were dismissed. He will be on supervised probation for five years. Judge Mary Mahler presided.

Stearns County Jail (KNSI) – One of three men accused of grabbing a woman off a St. Cloud street, dragging her to a park, and raping her has pleaded guilty. Sahal Abdi Hassan pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting first-degree criminal sexual conduct in the October attack. The evening of October 18th, a woman says she was walking in the 700 block of East St. Germain Street when a car pulled up, and four to five men grabbed her off the street and forced her into a car. For the next several hours, the woman says she was driven around by 25-year-old Hassan and two other men, 22-year-old Abdirahin Ali and 23-year-old Mohamed Abdi.
