The New Orleans Saints now sit at 10-4 because of back-to-back losses on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles and at home to the Kansas City Chiefs and their referees. New Orleans still sits just one win away from its fourth consecutive NFC South title, but their chances for the top seed in the conference and a first-round bye are all but gone.
They ve lost those two games for several reasons on both sides of the ball, but one is a surprising slump of their normally stout run defense. New Orleans next takes on the 6-8 Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day in the Superdome

The Vikings defense gets no reinforcement Sunday against a recently surging Chicago Bears offense as linebacker Eric Kendricks was unable to practice for a second straight week and will miss his third straight game. Tight end Kyle Rudolph (foot) also has been ruled out.
Kendricks still is dealing with a left calf strain that he aggravated during warmups before the Dec. 6 win against the Jaguars. Despite missing the past two games, Kendricks remains the Vikings leading tackler with 107 in 11 games. Veteran Todd Davis, a September signing who has played every defensive snap the past two games, will get another start alongside Eric Wilson.

New Orleans had a poor outing defensively against the Eagles, despite facing a rookie quarterback in Jalen Hurts who was making his first start. The Saints still come into this game with the NFL s 2nd ranked overall defense, allowing 299 yards and 20 points per game.
