ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio â Coney Islandâs 2021 season will open Monday, June 7 after its scheduled May 29 opening was delayed to repair a water main leak in the Sunlite Pool area.
Officials announced Thursday that the leak has been repaired, and the park is ready to host visitors next week.
âConey Island is excited to welcome guests for a 2021 season filled with new attractions and family favorites. We thank everyone for their patience as we worked to ensure a safe and top-notch experience in the Sunlite Water Adventure Area,â said Coney Island president Rob Schutter in a release.
3. Hollywood Drive-in opens for season
For years, the Hollywood Theatre in College Hill provided entertainment to the neighborhood, and during the summer months, it reinvents itself as a drive-in movie theater, hosting movies in the parking lot (1538 Cedar Ave., College Hill). The drive-in reopens for the season on Friday and you can enjoy this classic summer experience every weekend with the films you loved as a kid, and movies your kids love today.
Tickets are $25 per carload and you are welcome to bring your own snacks, or support your favorite local food vendors, who will be serving up specials each night. Showtime is 9:15 p.m. Here s the schedule:

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio â Coney Island s 2021 season opening has been delayed by approximately 10 days due a leaking water main in the pool area, the water park announced Thursday.
The park was originally scheduled to open its season Saturday.
Officials said the leak emerged on Tuesday, and a team has been working to identify and rectify the issue since then. Sunlite Pool had to be significantly drained for repairs and to refill the pool.
âWe are very disappointed that we will not able to open this week as originally expected, but weâre excited to welcome our guests back for an outstanding 2021 season as soon as possible,â Coney Island president Rob Schutter said in a news release.

The leak emerged on Tuesday and since then, a team has been working to identify and rectify the issue. Unfortunately, to address the issue, Sunlite Pool had to be significantly drained and it will require time to complete the work and refill the pool, officials said in a news release.
All tickets purchased for the dates that Coney Island is temporarily closed will be honored on any public operating day through the 2021 season, they said.
