Father and daughter Mat and Savanna Shaw began singing duets together from their kitchen table at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. After they posted their first song on social media, the pair were shocked by the response they received.
Ten months later, they have recorded two albums and gained international attention, making two appearances on the “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” receiving a write-up in The New York Times, and performing at their first arena concert. Today, Mat and Savanna join the show to share about their journey of success and how it has impacted their relationship as father and daughter.

Backstage at the Maverik Center, just 20 minutes before Mat and Savanna Shaw went out and performed their first arena show on Dec. 5, the daddy-daughter duo had a conversation with Kelly Clarkson.
The Shaws had last chatted with the superstar in May two months after their version of “The Prayer” went viral and their unexpected rise to fame was still relatively new. At that time, they were recording music in their closet, dubbed the “quarantine recording studio” (Clarkson mentioned that she also took advantage of the “great acoustics” in her bedroom closet to record her first song).

Brad Robins, Casey Elliott and Bradley Quinn Lever took the stage at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah for two shows on Dec. 5. The audience was socially distanced and attendees wore masks during the performances.
The concerts were recorded and GENTRI is rebroadcasting the show worldwide during a live stream Saturday night.

Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga took her excitement to Twitter as she posted an update about her recent “Billboard’s Classical Crossover” ranking in the US.
The CD entitled “Live In Concert With the Sydney Symphony Orchestra” held at the Sydney Opera House in Australia in 2019 ranked seventh following “10” by Piano Guys, “Picture This” and “Merry Little Christmas” both from Mat & Savanna Shaw, “S&M2” by Metallica and San Francisco Symphony, “Classic Diamonds” by Neil Diamond and the London Symphony Orchestra acquiring the 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd spots, respectively.
Italian opera singer Andrea Borcelli landed on the top spot with “Believe.”
