The Sullivan County Public Health Services is alerting anyone who visited the Holiday Mountain Ski Area in Monticello on Sunday, January 17, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., that they may have been exposed to someone who has since tested positive for COVID-19:
Someone who was at the ski resort became symptomatic on Jan. 19, officials say. Despite the snowy forecast, Sullivan County will continue its COVID-19 vaccination clinics Tuesday and Wednesday at its Public Health Services building in Liberty.
Sullivan County Public Health Services Director Nancy McGraw says the county is obligated by New York state to dispense its entire supply of vaccine by Wednesday, so there is no time to reschedule any appointments. She says those who are planning to cancel their appointments are asked to do so as soon as possible so that all available doses can be given out before the Wednesday deadline. However, those who do cancel cannot be put on a priority list for the next round of vaccine distribution, so they will need to re-register.

With the administering of the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible people under way, counties in New York have been running out of doses quickly. The process has been bumpy, and some county leaders hope it will be ironed out soon as they field numerous calls and remind residents that the program is run by the state.
Democratic Westchester County Executive George Latimer delivered a vaccine update Monday.
“Westchester County government received, last week, last Tuesday, 500 doses to be administered, and those 500 doses were given to the county. They were administered through our White Plains Department of Health clinic on Court Street, not far from where I’m standing in the county office building,” says Latimer. “And through Friday, we were able to properly deliver all of those 500 units to those who are eligible in the 1A category.”
