GALESBURG On July 9, The Register-Mail (page 7A) had this headline: “Fully vaccinated people should be wary as delta spreads.” A fully vaccinated friend got COVID again! My friend had been regularly attending church with a lovely woman who, so far, has refused to get vaccinated. I later learned people at that church can choose whether to wear a mask. While their pastor is reportedly vaccinated, a pastor cannot force people to take responsibility. God gave us free will, remember?
Over 4th of July weekend, I became aware my friend was feeling ill. She’s in her 80s, lives alone and doesn’t always answer her phone. It was 10:30 p.m. While putting something in the freezer of my aging refrigerator, I noticed the food in there was thawing! Yike! What to do? Call Chuck!
