Hours after making tall claims of protecting women's rights and urging locals not to fear the new regime of Taliban, an incident of firing on locals and reported abduction of a female governor of Afghan has surfaced. According to Indian news agency ANI, Salima Mazari, one of the few female district governors in Afghanistan and the woman who has led a battle against the insurgents, has been taken captive by the Taliban. In 2020 Mazari negotiated the surrender of over 100 Taliban militants in her province. As of now there is no update on the status of the capture politician.
