To send your own letter, email bfpletters@london.newsquest.co.uk. Please note, any letters sent to the Bucks Free Press office are only being picked up periodically as all staff are still working from home. LETTER OF THE WEEK: Impressed by vaccine operation at Adams Park What an impressive operation at Adams Park football ground. Met all the way by smiley faces, good humour and speedy turn around. My thanks and congratulations to ALL the volunteers and ‘dart players’ at Adams Park Football ground on February 7, who turned what I thought would be a complete nightmare into a hugely organised, quick, easy, painless occasion.

Hotel overhaul and 50 new homes | Bucks Free Press

This week, we have rounded up five of the most interesting planning applications that have been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council for decision. They include a development of up to 50 homes in High Wycombe and plans to turn a stable block into four new houses in Chalfont St Giles. Limmer Lane, High Wycombe - up to 50 homes The land off Horns Lane is owned by Buckinghamshire Council and they initially outlined plans for 62 homes here. However, the plans have now been submitted, and that number has been reduced to 50. There will also be a network of pedestrian routes introduced. The field, which is surrounded by Horns Lane, The Paddocks and Linnet Close and is near the M40, used to be in the Green Belt but it was removed as part of the Wycombe District Local Plan and allocated for housing instead.

HS2 reveals Chilterns tunnel barn design vent shaft headhouses

Grimshaw disguises Chalfont St Giles HS2 ventilation shaft as barn

Architecture studio Grimshaw has revealed its latest barn-shaped ventilation shaft that will be built near Chalfont St Giles in the Chilterns as part of the UK s HS2 high-speed railway. Designed as the partner to the Chalfont St Peter ventilation shaft, which was also designed by Grimshaw, the headhouse building for the shaft will be disguised as barn to lessen its impact on the surrounding countryside. As with the shafts at Chalfont St Peter, Little Missenden and Amersham, the Chalfont St Giles shaft will provide ventilation to a 10-mile-long tunnel that is being built for High Speed 2 (HS2) under the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
