We are looking for a programme delegate with a strong profile in PMEAL for a new four-year Danida funded programme in Niger.
The programme aims to respond to vulnerabilities of displaced persons and host communities fleeing their areas of origin in Niger and Mali through a triple nexus ‘Humanitarian, Development and Peace’ approach.
It will particularly assist displaced communities through the provision of humanitarian assistance, psychosocial support, protection with a special focus on SGBV as well as durable solutions such as livelihoods opportunities and enhance social cohesion among communities in conflict.
The Danish Red Cross Country (DRC) Office for Niger is placed in Niamey at Nigerien Red Cross Society’s headquarter together with other partner national societies such as French Red Cross and Spanish Red Cross among others. In a Newsweek essay published Thursday, Matthew Brodsky, former adviser to the Trump administration’s Middle East peace team, blasted the left, claiming it seeks to banish all dissent, and specifically criticized recent calls for the canceling of Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The essay, titled “When Everything is Racist There’s No Room for Reason,” begins by describing today’s progressives as demanding a “profound remaking of the country.”
“In their regressive Orwellian worldview, anti-Americanism is the new patriotism,” Brodsky (pictured) writes. “In their version of American democracy, big tech thought police substitute for the real police now being defunded in communities across America.”

A recent surge of COVID-19 cases in India, which media reports said could possibly get out of control, will be another major hit to the nation s economy and could also discourage foreign investment, experts said on Thursday.
India marked a new milestone in the raging epidemic on Thursday, reporting 314,835 new daily cases, the highest one-day tally, according to a Reuters report on Thursday.

The Development and Humanitarian Programme Manager (DH PM) has responsibility for the management of Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) programme activities related to all DHC programmes and projects in Iraq (Protection, Women Empowerment, Democracy and Human Rights and Relief). The DH PM is formally responsible to, and reports to, Country Director for Iraq/Syria, based in Erbil, but reports thematically also to NPA Development and Humanitarian Cooperation (DHC) at Head Office in Oslo.
The planning and implementation of the programme is carried out in close collaboration with the NPA Iraq Management Team and under the overall auspices of the Country Director for NPA Iraq/Syria, based in Iraq.
