The following is a news release from the city of Idaho Falls.
Attention Idaho Falls business owners! There is a new city ordinance which may require action from you by May 15. Check your mailbox for a flyer and letter with additional information and instructions from the Idaho Falls Fire Department.
The Partners in Public Safety Program empowers business owners to work with the department to proactively protect employees, businesses, firefighters and the public.
Fire and other emergencies are inherently risky and dangerous to the continuous operation of businesses, the public and firefighters. This risk can be considerably lessened when emergency response personnel have current and accurate information about the conditions, conduct, and operations of a business.
ZEELAND The Zeeland City Council is considering adopting a fire code.
If the city council approves the proposed ordinance, Zeeland will adopt the 2015 version of the International Fire Code. The Zeeland Fire Rescue department will review plans for new construction and perform inspections to ensure that businesses meet the standards of the fire code.
Those inspections will include ensuring fire suppression systems are working properly, that exits are clearly marked and free from obstructions and ensuring adequate water supply for fighting fires by requiring fire hydrants, if necessary.
The fire code also regulates the storage of hazardous materials.
Fire Chief Ross Tibbets told council the fire code ordinance would give teeth to the fire department s fire safety recommendations.
LebTown New bridge, old records, fire code also discussed. End in sight for Walnut St. repaving.

City government offices have been in the Lebanon Municipal Building at 400 S. 8th Street since the 1960s, when they moved there from North 9th Street in downtown.

While fire incidents involving lithium-ion batteries in energy storage systems are rare, they can have devastating consequences for the industry and pose a threat to safety. Tom Bensen, Nick Warner, Ryan Franks and Michael Bowes from energy storage and fire safety expert group Energy Safety Response Group (formerly Energy Storage Response Group) discuss some of the most important aspects of creating a safe battery storage industry.
Energy storage projects can range from a few hundred kilowatt-hours to multiple megawatt-hours in capacity. They can be located in arctic, desert, or tropical environments, in urban or rural settings and in a variety of property owner- ship situations from a solar development, to a utility substation, to a commercial or industrial facility. Each project has a variety of stakeholders present including potentially:
