A photograph received from across the border show pile of drugs and other contrabands believed to be lying at Wagah, in flames
ATTARI: Confusion prevailed among security officials at Attari international border with Pakistan as plumes of smoke billowed from across the border in Pakistan on Monday morning.
An alert was sounded in the apprehension of a terrorist attack or a mishap at Wagah (Pakistan), but the confusion cleared up when it was known the smoke was billowing from the burning of seized drugs by the Pakistan customs department at Wagah.
“On seeing thick clouds of smoke, our first impression was of a terrorist attack across the border or a major fire incident; in any case, we had to be alert,” said a source in Border Security Force (BSF).
