  Over the last week, the Director General honored an invitation from The Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMECOM) . This invitation was to attend a conference and exhibition programme at Moscow in Russia. The conference took into perspective, modern day disaster- management solutions , with an exhibition of technology, tools and equipment best suited for effective disaster management . It also included simulation exercises in response to mudslides, earthquakes , flood and fire disasters. On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation from Africa met with a team from the Russian Direct Investment Fund led by Vladimir Primark. This meeting was meant to discuss issues related to the roll out of the Sputnik V vaccine, with emphasis on its efficacy and economic advantages for the continent.
