All Classical Portland thriving with kids network April 26 2021
International Children s Arts Network has increased listenership in the past year with content geared toward youth.
Other than to provide entertainment for children and teenagers and their adult companions, All Classical Portland had an ulterior motive when it launched the International Children s Arts Network: to create an alternative to YouTube, movies, TV shows and video games all the screen stuff. I wanted this to be more of an audio program, because we all saw how screens are playing a large part in lives and I wanted this to be an outlet, said Suzanne Nance, president and CEO of All Classical Portland and ICAN. And, we have to meet children and humans where they are. The idea is to hit play, download an activity, use good old crayons and listen.

Join in on the fun as the International Children’s Arts Network (ICAN) celebrates its 2nd birthday on April 15th, 2021!
Launched in 2019, ICAN is a 24-hour network offering enriching, educational, and commercial-free arts radio, designed for children and the adults who care for them. ICAN shares music, poetry, stories, dance breaks, and more creative content from around the world, and we hope YOU will share in the celebration as the network celebrates its second anniversary!
ICAN’s achievements over the last two years have been made possible by community support, and the network’s culturally and artistically diverse programming has something for everyone:
provide access to the arts for all.

An African American Requiem live from the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon. This groundbreaking work, which was commissioned by Resonance Ensemble and to be co-presented with the Oregon Symphony, memorializes the Black lives lost to racial violence from the founding of our country, to Eric Garner’s death in 2014.
