Share ANSON Voters in Regional School Unit 74 will soon be asked to decide on the proposed $10.4 million budget for the 2021-2022 school year, an approximate $50,000 hike from the previous year. The district held a special meeting on Thursday at Carrabec High School to discuss the items that make up the budget and what each town in the district which serves Anson, Embden, New Portland, North Anson and Solon are responsible for paying. The final vote on the budget will be held on Tuesday, June 8.

Carrabec High announces 2021 valedictorian, salutatorian Share Sarah Olson Contributed photo Sarah Olson, Carrabec’s valedictorian, has a grade point average of 101.18 and has completed four advanced placement, seven honors, and five dual enrollment classes. Olson is a quiet student who accomplishes a lot behind the scenes and is a hard-working role model, according to her school. She plans to attend Dartmouth College, and is the daughter of Kirt and Laurie Olson of Solon.   Contributed photo Mikayla Oliver, Carrabec’s salutatorian, is a bright and successful student, according to her school. She has a grade point average of 99.07, completing four advanced placement classes, seven honors classes, and six dual enrollment classes.
