With the conclusion of Black History Month and Women’s History Month, this is a great opportunity to highlight the achievements, contributions and the work of Black Canadian women throughout history. These individuals continue to be part of the quest of achieving a more equal society, not only among races, but among genders as well.
Their legacy whether it’s historical or current is part of many sectors of society and continues to inspire Black women, women of colour, non-Black women and people in general to work hard, develop their potential and achieve greatness in all its forms.

Following consultation with expert stakeholders and given the prevailing challenges in Haitian football, FIFA has decided to establish an advisory panel chaired by The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean and made up of experts and representatives of civil society organisations and institutions to support the work of the Haitian Football Association normalisation committee.
This panel will play a critical role in assisting the normalisation committee in relation to safeguarding, child protection and the implementation of strategic social projects aimed at safely and permanently developing football in Haiti.
The full composition of the panel will be announced in due course.

While the world has focused on the public health consequences of the COVID-19, the socioeconomic impacts have been a key policy lever in establishing government responses. In Sub-Saharan Africa, the pandemic triggered severe economic and social contractions, magnifying the long-standing legacies of prejudice, injustice, and increasing inequalities of our societies.
