We have to be on guard

THIS is the second year that we’ve held room visits for Raya. My wife and I will visit our children’s room which will be decorated especially for the occasion. My second daughter has also sent me an invitation for this year’s Hari Raya celebration at her room. It is up to us to be creative in making Raya more interesting. As we celebrate Hari Raya in the new norm, try to make Raya fun in your own way and for frontliners, continue to be positive and don’t ignore the Raya celebration entirely. Remember to take care of yourselves, both mentally and physically, so that you are able to take care of others.

Frontliners face Covid-19 stigma due to exposure risk

PETALING JAYA: The misconception that frontliners are in constant contact with Covid-19 patients has led to many of them being stigmatised. This is in stark contrast to a year ago when all frontliners were hailed as national heroes at the beginning of the country’s Covid-19 battle. Dr Peter Lim, 30, who is attached to a university hospital in Selangor, said medical frontliners encountered a fair share of discrimination, which deterred them from going out of their workplaces in their working attire.
