Steve Stuart of Warlands Bike shops across Oxford are reminding customers that they remain open during lockdown as they are classed as an essential service. Shops including Walton Street Cycles, Warlands in Botley Road and Bike King in Cowley Road are open for repairs and bike sales. Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, which has published a full list of sites, said it was thanks to ‘truly outstanding’ work by clinicians, staff, patient participation group members and community volunteers that rollout was now ‘well under way’. AS ATHLETES head across the finish line of the London Marathon, runners from Oxfordshire are celebrating a sterling effort for charity fundraising. Officer at RAF Brize Norton Ross Carter shaved off 20 minutes from his personal best in a giant nurse outfit. Major Carter, who has been in the military for 22 years, raced past the finish line in a time of five hours and 30 minutes. The dad-of-two, who was running in the 13-feet foam outfit for the fifth time, smashed his previous PB of five hours and 50 minutes in the two-stone costume called “Nessa.” The 37-year-old, who has toured Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia said: “I think in one word I would describe the outfit as hot.
