Volunteer recruitment drive under way for new digital support service

A VOLUNTEER recruitment drive is under way for a new digital support service. CVS Inverclyde has introduced a new Digital Information Assistance and Learning (DIAL) service which will help people across the area build up their online skills. The service operates between 2-5pm Mondays to Thursdays and 9am to 4pm on Fridays until the end of May. The pilot, funded by Communities Recovery Fund, will see volunteers provide advice via the telephone. CVSI chief executive Charlene Elliot said: The pandemic has meant a rapid shift to online and digital services and resources, but many people in our communities are not confident with their digital knowledge and skills so they are missing out on essential services.
