Two ministry leaders in Summit County are turning their attention to racial reconciliation because they believe the wounds of history, both past and present, need proper healing. 

Church, business owner give back

Columbia-Greene Media CATSKILL — The Men’s Connect Group of Community Life Church and Anthony’s Banquet Hall are teaming up to provide 1,000 chicken Parmesan dinners to first responders and those in need. Sponsored by the Community Life Church and prepared by Anthony’s Banquet Hall, the dinners will be distributed Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at Anthony’s on Route 23B in Leeds. The meals will include salad, chicken Parmesan and spaghetti. “Our hearts are happy to do this and we hope we can reach out and help,” Anthony Gjergji, owner of Anthony’s Banquet Hall, said. The dinner will benefit several local fire departments, including Leeds, West Athens, Athens and Catskill, Town of Catskill Ambulance, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the state police, Gjergji said.
