U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., announced Friday that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $450,551 in Head Start and Early Head Start program funds to recipients in North Dakota including $40,932 to Community Action Region VI, which serves nine counties in the Jamestown region including Stutsman.
Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote school readiness for young children and toddlers from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development as well as early learning, health, and family well-being.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Cashwise Foods in Jamestown has given back to the community through different ways.
Jamestown Store Director Matthew Arends states through the month of December, the store held their “Round Up” promotion, collecting more than $1,500 in funds.
“Today, we were able to donate gift cards to Community Action Region VI to help support those in need in our community,” Arends says. “Our team in Jamestown has a proud history of supporting our community through community giving and the Round Up promotion gave us a unique ability to engage our community and guests in giving back to those in need.”

A Jamestown man continues to recover at home after spending more than a month in a Fargo hospital after contracting COVID-19.
Phil Cherney, 56, said he had a “sniffle” after Halloween.
“It started out as just a mild head cold, is what I thought it was but each day it seemed to be a little worse,” he said.
