BWA: Pumping stations being put back online

July 2, 2021  The Barbados Water Authority wishes to update the public that its pumping stations are currently being put back online, mainly on generator power. This follows a precautionary shut down of all stations early this morning prior to the passage of Tropical Storm Elsa.  This activity will allow water to gradually flow back into the distribution network and into supply. Customers are asked to be patient as it will take some time for the pressure in the mains to return to normal.  The Authority’s tanker fleet is also operational with several crews in the field. The fleet will be concentrating on the healthcare and other critical facilities followed by the Community Tanks.

The Bajan Reporter | BWA Introduces 24 Hour Tanker Service

by Bajan Reporter / May 3rd, 2021 The Barbados Water Authority is working to meet the demand of its customers with the introduction of a 24-hour delivery service for its water tankers. The process will see the tanker teams continue to assist residents house to house while also refilling Community Tanks around the clock. Director of Engineering, Charles Leslie, explained that “due to the recent high demand and the fact that the process of delivering water to residents and filling community tanks in some areas can take up to eight hours, almost an entire day, we sought to employ alternative solutions to improve the situation for our customers.”
