TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Community Thrift Market has been in this community for six years serving 25 nonprofits.
So far they ve raised thousands of dollars and are pushing to get to $100,000 by the end of summer to help those nonprofits survive. We are on course to have issued $100,000 in grants and other financial services to other nonprofit groups in town, said Karen Loewen, Store Manager of Community Thrift Market.
From supporting seniors to donating money to organizations with limited funding, they hope to expand their reach.

Vouchers are for those vaccinated on or after May 21

Community Thrift Market says they want to do their part to help Tallahassee achieve herd immunity.
They re doing it by offering $50 store credits to customers who bring their completed vaccination cards.
Store manager Karen Loewen says she hopes this motivates someone to get their vaccine.

An area thrift shop is working on a new commitment to feed the community, but they re not doing it alone.
For Community Thrift Market, it all started with books. We d been filling the little libraries for a year, said Charlotte Weddington, assistant manager for the thrift shop.
Those Little Libraries are similar to small pantries you may see around Tallahassee.
