Community Windpower celebrates 5TWh milestone - reNews - Renewable Energy News

Community Windpower’s seven Scottish onshore wind farms have broken through the five terawatt-hour barrier for the first time. The milestone has been achieved by the company’s onshore wind farms in southern Scotland, which have an installed generating capacity of 221.5MW. Community Windpower also has three Section 36 applications awaiting approval from the Scottish Government, for Faw Side Community Wind Farm, Sanquhar 2 Community Wind Farm, and Scoop Hill Community Wind Farm. These new developments will comprise a total of 164 turbines and the company expects them to have a total generating capacity of 1.1GW.
