Hundreds of people gathered in Sacramento and Davis and 18 cities in the U.S. plus Canada and Australia to the Unity Against Hate rally on May 15.
The organizers for the International Unity Against Hate Rally invited people of all backgrounds to stand up against hate towards the people who identify as part of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
At the California State Capitol, hundreds gathered to listen to community leaders talk about the change needed and celebrate the Asian American and Pacific Islander community through chanting, music and dancing.

The event held at the Fort Bend County Justice Center condemned the violence against members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

Community Against Hate, a diverse coalition of community organizations and leaders have teamed up with the national civil rights organization NAACP in a clear stance to address hate directed toward Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. In a direct response to the increased verbal and physical attacks against Asians living and born in America, the #UnityAgainstHate rally will be held on Saturday, May 15, at 11 a.m., in multiple cities across the nation. The rally will echo the voices of many who have experienced hate crimes against them based on their race, nationality and identity.
Two days from a Memphis City Council vote that could determine the fate of a crude oil pipeline that would run through parts of South Memphis, more than 100 people joined a national civil rights leader in rallying against the project.
Memphis Community Against the Pipeline gathered Sunday afternoon with supporters and civil rights leader the Rev. William Barber at Alonzo Weaver Park in southwest Memphis to fight against the Byhalia Connection pipeline.
Black Lives Matter flags and signs saying no oil in our soil were held up throughout the crowd, as attendees chanted power to the people, and stop the pipeline, with drums and other instruments.

After holding numerous rallies and protests for months, the Memphis Community Against The Pipeline again brought dozens of Memphians together Sunday to protest against a 49 mile proposed crude oil pipeline that would go through majority-black neighborhoods and on top parts of the Memphis sand aquifer which provides fresh drinking water to millions.
