Multicultural Association continues efforts to help newcomers

Scott Nixon Photo by Scott Nixon /jpg, LA Article content EXETER – The pandemic hasn’t stopped the Multicultural Association of Perth Huron (MAPH) from doing its work to help newcomers get settled in Canada. Founder and president Dr. Geza Wordofa said it’s very hard to have fundraisers during the pandemic, but the MAPH has continued to support newcomers. As reported in November, an $80,000 grant from the Canadian Red Cross through the Government of Canada Emergency Community Support Fund allowed Wordofa and his team of volunteers to distribute food, reusable facemasks, hand sanitizer and other items to newcomers in Huro
