HMRC has adopted a temporary approach to applying declaration requirements for the movement of goods in parcels (including by the Royal Mail Group and express carriers).

Here s a high-level overview of what you need to know, or set up, before importing goods from the EU to the UK.
Delaying customs import declarations for up to six months
In the immediate aftermath of the Brexit transition period ending, delayed customs declarations is one of the biggest aids for businesses that import from the EU.
If you make use of it there is, for most goods, no need to make immediate import declarations for goods at the UK border, or get authorisation in advance. Instead, you can wait 175 days, or six months. This also means you can delay any customs payments until then too.
Apply to access Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (C1800)
If you need to use the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system to make an import or export declarations you ll need to tell HMRC your full contact details so they can be linked to your CHIEF badge.

You need to:
Consider getting someone to do declarations for you, such as a Customs Agent, freight forwarder or fast parcel operator. You can also use the Trader Support Service to help with the new processes under the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Have a Government Gateway user ID, and get access to the Customs Declaration Service. If you do not already have a Government Gateway user ID you can get it at the same time.
Make sure you have an Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) number. If you’re getting an EORI for the first time, you can get access to the Customs Declaration Service at the same time.
