Wyoming reports 44 new confirmed COVID cases; zero in Natrona County By Brendan LaChance on May 12, 2021

CASPER, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) reported 44 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 during their 3 pm Wednesday, May 12 update.
There have been 49,686 total confirmed cases in Wyoming since the pandemic began. Probable cases rose by 14 on Wednesday to a total of 9,207.
Zero additional confirmed cases were reported in Natrona County on Wednesday, where the total stands at 5,947 confirmed cases. Probable cases rose by six to 2,056.

No additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported Wednesday. Two additional COVID-19 related deaths among Wyoming residents were reported on Tuesday which brought the total number of Wyoming residents who have reportedly died after contracting COVID-19 since the pandemic began to 712.

CASPER, Wyo. Wyoming Superintendent Jillian Balow asked school districts across the state to complete a COVID-19 related survey being conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which aims to identify best practicing on mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in K-12 schools.
“Since Wyoming is the national leader for in-person instruction this school year, it is important that our story is shared,” Balow said in a memo released on Monday. “The CDC wants to gain more knowledge about what strategies can be used to mitigate the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 within the school setting.”
81 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Wyoming Friday, 8 in Natrona County By Greg Hirst on May 7, 2021

CASPER, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) reported 81 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 during their 3 pm Friday, May 7 update.
There have been 49,477 total confirmed cases in Wyoming since the pandemic began. Probable cases rose by 15 on Friday to a total of 9,146.
Eight additional confirmed cases were reported in Natrona County on Friday, bringing the total to 5,936 confirmed cases. Probable cases remained at 2,044.

Friday’s hospitalization data had not yet been updated as of 3 pm Friday. The number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 dropped to 24 on Thursday, according to the WDH. That’s down from a recent peak of 37 last Saturday, a number not seen since mid February. Hospitalizations peaked in Wyoming on Nov. 30, 2020 at 247.
