CASPER, Wyo. Wyoming Superintendent Jillian Balow asked school districts across the state to complete a COVID-19 related survey being conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which aims to identify best practicing on mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in K-12 schools.
“Since Wyoming is the national leader for in-person instruction this school year, it is important that our story is shared,” Balow said in a memo released on Monday. “The CDC wants to gain more knowledge about what strategies can be used to mitigate the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 within the school setting.”

CASPER, Wyo. The Natrona County School District Board of Trustees dipped their toes into debate about President Joe Biden administration’s ban on federal oil and gas leasing and permitting during their Monday, Feb. 22 work session.

Trustee Clark Jensen said during Monday’s meeting that he thinks the NCSD trustees should send a letter to Biden on the issue.
“We ought to have our voice be heard,” he said. Jensen added that in Balow’s letter to the Wyoming School Boards Association, she said that the ban could result in a loss of $150 million a year in education funding for Wyoming.
