The court voted 8-1 Monday night to hold its regular meetings at 6 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. Prosecuting Attorney Tony Rogers had asked the court to consider another day of the week because Mondays are busy days for prosecutors in criminal court and the courtroom of the Carroll County Eastern District Courthouse in Berryville — where the quorum court normally meets — is sometimes not available on Monday nights. District 6 Justice of the Peace Craig Hicks made a motion to set the monthly meetings at 6 p.m. on the third Monday, saying that would give prosecutors more time to finish their duties in criminal court. Although Rogers noted that would create a longer day for prosecutors, JPs approved Hicks’ motion by an 8-1 vote.
