HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Engineers, building inspectors and architects were busy Wednesday, April 28th at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.
Thatâs because an outdoor roof at Propst Arena collapsed yesterday. The portion of the arena that collapsed was an addition built in 2010.
It took less than 10 seconds for damage to be done.

âThere were no indications, no signs that we were aware of prior to that happening. There was an eyewitness actually who was inside the skate lobby hanging out and he saw it and he said within a matter of 10 seconds it had all fell,â said VBC spokesperson Samantha Nielsen.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - It’s been almost eight months since Hurricane Laura damaged thousands of buildings including the libraries in Calcasieu Parish.
Two months after Laura, ten out of the 13 branches across Calcasieu Parish were able to open. Now, all have reopened to the public, but work still continues for the three hardest-hit branches.
”As we all know, it’s been a crazy year. At least the past 8 months have been just crazy,” said Calcasieu Library Public Information Officer Christy Comeaux.
