(KPLC) - It’s been almost eight months since Hurricane Laura damaged thousands of buildings including the libraries in Calcasieu Parish. Two months after Laura, ten out of the 13 branches across Calcasieu Parish were able to open. Now, all have reopened to the public, but work still continues for the three hardest-hit branches. ”As we all know, it’s been a crazy year. At least the past 8 months have been just crazy,” said Calcasieu Library Public Information Officer Christy Comeaux.
