THE only two Coffee Clubs in the Lockyer Valley are owned by the same person and they’re no more than 250m apart.
Franchisee Boubacar Barry, known as Barry, owns both Plainland Coffee Clubs, which are separated by the Warrego Highway.
He’s owned the original store at the eastbound truck stop since 2015, and launched the westbound store earlier this year, a decision he said took a couple of months to commit to.
But why does Barry have two stores so close to each other?
Because of the expanding community and the prime location, he said.

Jobseekers have until Friday to apply for positions with hardware giant Bunnings as it prepares to open a new store in Plainland.
The Gatton Star understands interviews are already underway to find staff for full-time, part-time and casual team member customer service employees.
The job position was posted on Bunnings’ website on February 26, and calls for jobseekers who are motivated by putting a smile on a customer’s face and enjoy helping others.
A Lockyer Valley resident, who wished not to be named, applied for a position with Bunnings and praised the online interview structure.
The applicant said they were faced with 10 questions about situations they had been in and how they were resolved.

Subscriber only Major food retailer Red Rooster is awaiting council s green light to begin construction at the newly developed Plainland petrol station. Retailer Red Rooster lodged a development application in February, with council to construct a dine-in and drive-through facility at Echidna drive at Plainland. In a report prepared by Precinct Urban Planning, two refreshment services will be constructed at Echidna drive - one specified as Red Rooster. Red Rooster has lodged a development application at Plainland. It s expected the Red Rooster facility will be single story, provide queuing for eight cars and two waiting bays. The eatery will include indoor dining, amenities, kitchen/back-of-house facilities, alfresco seating area and refuse storage area.

Despite rumours that the Mexican fastfood chain would be opening a drive through store at Plainland in the Mobil complex, the business has denied a new store.
In an email from Guzman Y Gomez, a customer service team member new stories would be announced on its social media pages. Guzman y Gomez have responded to rumours of a store at Plainland (file image).
“We do not currently have any information regarding a store in Plainland in our Pipeline,” they said.
“However, you may like to keep an eye out on our Social Media platforms as all new stores are announced over there.”
