I come to you tonight from the County’s Emergency Medical Operations Center.
370 days ago, our county was one of the first in the nation to declare a public health state of emergency on COVID-19 activating this site and others to respond.
From this modest warehouse our region’s massive mobilization was equipped.

SAN DIEGO
In his first State of the County address, Board of Supervisors Chairman Nathan Fletcher laid out a sweeping agenda that he acknowledged might be labeled as too ambitious Thursday night, Feb. 18.
With the county still dealing with a year-long pandemic that has been devastating to many residents and the economy, Fletcher announced several proposals and reforms that focus on social and juvenile justice, job creation, immigration, the environment, behavioral health and addiction recovery.

PINE ISLAND Pine Island s eighth annual Winter Fest will be held Jan. 30.
Activities for this year’s Winter Fest will promote getting out while keeping a safe social distance.
There will be groomed cross country ski and snowshoe trails at the golf course provided there s enough snow.
New this year is a Pine Island Scavenger Hunt that can be completed from the comfort of your home. Questions will be uploaded to the Image Committee’s Facebook page and the Chamber’s website starting Jan. 27. Hard copies of the Scavenger Hunt will be available at Van Horn Public Library.
