Earlier this season, they rolled out the world’s first installation of the Evenflow Crowd Radar system at select gates to allow for easier physical distancing. The system anonymously measures crowd density and then alerts travelers of areas where there are fewer people via digital signage and light beacons.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - The Orlando International Airport is the first airport in the world to get new crowd-flow radar technology.
The radar system, called Evenflow Crowd Radar, uses different colors from green to red to let you know how busy your gate is. They measure the number of people at gates to encourage passengers to properly social distance.

ORLANDO, Fla. – As passengers are returning to air travel and cases of COVID-19 continue to rise, Orlando International Airport is announcing new technology designed to encourage social distancing in high-traffic areas.
On Nov. 20, the airport collaborated with SYNECT to install an Evenflow Crowd Radar system at Southwest Airlines gates 101-109.
