The Central Point School District Board of Directors has named a new superintendent for the district, and he ll be a familiar face to many families. The Board announced on Thursday that it will appont Walt Davenport, the current principal of Central Point Elementary School, to take over leadership of the district effective July 1. Davenport has been principal of the elementary school for the past seven years. Prior to that, he was principal of Sams Valley Elementary, and Dean of Students at Crater High School. Before joining CPSD, Davenport was both a teacher and classified employee at Eagle Point High School.
