Central Point School District chooses new superintendent to begin July 1
Current Central Point Elementary School principal Walt Davenport has been tapped to lead the district.

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — The Central Point School District Board of Directors has named a new superintendent for the district, and he'll be a familiar face to many families.
The Board announced on Thursday that it will appont Walt Davenport, the current principal of Central Point Elementary School, to take over leadership of the district effective July 1.
Davenport has been principal of the elementary school for the past seven years. Prior to that, he was principal of Sams Valley Elementary, and Dean of Students at Crater High School. Before joining CPSD, Davenport was both a teacher and classified employee at Eagle Point High School.
