Interactive Army of the Dead Event Unlocks First 15 Minutes – /Film

A global livestream event for  Army of the Dead will allow fans to unlock the first 15 minutes of Zack Snyder’s zombie heist movie through an “interactive experience.” It’s not a heist featuring the undead and a zombie tiger, but it will do. Netflix announced that it will host aan interactive  Army of the Dead event on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10 A.M. PT/1  P.M. ET, available only on the Netflix YouTube channel. Fans can tune into this interactive experience to unlock the first 15 minutes of the zombie action heist flick and see special appearances from director Zack Snyder, as well as cast members Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Tig Notaro and more.

Ahead of its debut later this month, Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for Zack Snyder’s newest zombie action-thriller Army of the Dead, starring Dave Bautista. The video features Snyder as he dissects the epic trailer for Army of the Dead,  which was released three weeks ago. The Justice League filmmaker takes us shot-by-shot, revealing some behind-the-scenes details about their filming locations and its characters including the names of the film’s two main antagonists. Check out the video in the player below! This new video comes after it was confirmed that the film will be first arriving in theaters on May 14, exclusively at 200 Cinemark locations. The wide release will then be followed by its global streaming debut on May 21 on Netflix.

Netflix’s Army of the Dead Set to Arrive in Cinemark Theaters Netflix has officially announced their new partnership with one of the biggest theater chains in the country, Cinemark, for the theatrical release of Zack Snyder’s upcoming action-thriller Army of the Dead. This marks the first Netflix film that will receive a wide release at a major theater chain. The Dave Bautista-led zombie pic is scheduled to arrive exclusively in theaters at 200 Cinemark locations on May 14, followed by its streaming debut on May 21 on Netflix. “Cinemark is excited to work with Netflix on our first wide release and provide movie lovers the opportunity to see ‘Army of the Dead’ in our theatres across the U.S.,” Cinemark’s Senior VP of Global Content Strategy, Justin McDaniel, said in a statement (via Variety). “Zack Snyder fans will love seeing the action in an immersive, cinematic environment with larger-than-life sight and sound technology.”

Netflix is breaking tradition as they are set to give Zack Snyder s Army of the Dead a wide release in theaters before it arrives on the streaming service. Netflix, historically speaking, has not cared much about the box office. They gave movies like The Irishman theatrical runs to qualify for awards and/or appease filmmakers. But now, they seem to be exploring the space a bit more seriously.
