Five high school students in Newcastle have been suspended, over an Instagram chat about a number of their female classmates.
St Pius X at Adamstown has suspended the year 10 boys for 20 days, following police and school investigations into the matter.
Two of the students face expulsion if they don’t withdraw their enrolment from the school.
It’s understood three students from other schools were also involved.
The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle confirmed the students breached several school policies, procedures and values.
The boys were interviewed by a police liaison officer, who has been working with the school to address the issue.
