The Red Raiders scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning to set the tone, and ultimately scored an 11-1 win over Pioneer in a Franklin County League contest in Athol. “The girls were hungry and ready to hit today,” Athol coach Sharon Chauvette said. Pioneer jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Hailey Haughey drilled a solo home run just two batters into the contest.

CCPD officers were called out to the 5800 block of Everhart around 1:15 a.m. Saturday. According to CCPD Lt. Samantha Baldwin, a dispute between two parties lead up to an argument and ended in gunfire. There was definitely a lot of rounds fired, Lt. Baldwin said. Police said the victim was shot twice in the back. There is no word on the victim s medical condition.
