Dec 22, 2020
We won’t soon forget 2020. Though many of us would probably like to. The pandemic still claims an absurd number of lives daily. The Black Lives Matter protests mobilized citizens all over the world. A polarizing election season ripples still into the new year.
Musicians saw their worlds turned upside down. Just as low-royalty paying streaming services have come to dominate how artists are able to get their music to listeners the artists were forced to cancel tours, the only real way they make money. Some artists tackled the complexities that the year brought, others looked to nature, or looked inside as they, like the rest of us, were all forced to stay home. Let’s hope that 2021 provides an opportunity for these artists to get back on the road and bring their voices to the people. We sure can use it! And they can use your support. Purchasing an album or merch right now can make a real difference to the artists you hear on The Dean’s List.
