TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) -As many wait for their second round of stimulus payments, some families have not received any federal aid.
Tucson city leaders say immigrants were among the
first impacted by the pandemic and the last to get help.
That’s why Mayor Regina Romero and Council Member Lane Santa Cruz have made it a personal mission to make sure no one is left behind.
“Many of these families fell through the cracks. Day laborers, domestic workers, hotel workers; many of these workers were left without a job,” said Romero. “Something we were very concerned about was the CARES package that was passed excluded many, many families.”
