SRINAGAR: Safeena Beigh, wife of former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh has won from Wagoora territorial constituency. She was contesting independently.

Ms Beigh defeated the People’s alliance for Gupkar declaration (PAGD) candidate, and Nasreena Firdous, the mother of JKAP leader Shoaib Nabi Lone and wife of assassinated PDP education minister Ghulam Nabi in a triangular contest.
Safeena was earlier denied mandate by PAGD following which Muzaffar Beigh resigned from the PDP as its patron. The ticket was given to NC which led her to contest as an independent candidate from Wagoora.
