Dive team recovers body of angler who fell through lake ice

Sunfield Township – An angler has died after falling through ice on a mid-Michigan lake.
The 41-year-old man was fishing Monday afternoon on Tamarock Lake in Sunfield Township, the Eaton County sheriff’s office said.
Rescuers responded to the lake west of Lansing after a 911 call from someone else who was fishing. A dive team later recovered the body of Jason Betts.

SUNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI Police recovered the body of a 41-year-old man who died Monday after falling through the ice while fishing. According to the Associated Press, another fisher saw Jason Betts fall through the ice on Tamarock Lake in Sunfield Township and called for help.
Police rushed to the scene, according to the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office and a dive team eventually recovered the body. The Lansing State Journal reports Betts was fishing by himself and is originally from South Boardman, Mich.
