Orphan appeals to IGP for justice

LAKKI MARWAT: An orphaned youth on Wednesday appealed to the Inspector General Police (IGP) Sanaullah Abbasi to take note of his torture by a cop in the police station.
Ali Marjan, resident of Lakki City, said that he along with his two brothers had been running a business of iron works for a long time.
He said that an investigation cop, Muhammad Ismail, caught him last week and took him to the police station where he along with other policemen tortured him.
He said that his two brothers were also arrested and tortured in the police station, adding that one of his brothers was admitted at the City Hospital Lakki due to his precarious condition later on.

Peshawar, February 03, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi presided over a meeting, held with the Regional Police Officers via Video link today, to review law and order situation in the province.
Regional Police Officers (RPOs) gave detailed briefings to the IGP KP about the law and order in their respective regions. They informed the IGP KP about the steps taken to maintain law and order, countering terrorism and action taken under the National Action Plan (NAP) during the last month.
Rs65b uplift plan finalised for merged districts

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Task Force was informed on Thursday that the economic development plan for all merged districts had been finalised under which 30 different projects have been proposed to be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs65 billion.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan chaired the meeting, which reviewed the progress made so far on the ongoing developmental schemes, law and order situation, matters related to merger and administrative affairs in tribal district Khyber, said an official handout.
Besides cabinet members Shahram Tarakai, Taimur Saleem Jhagara, Akbar Ayub, Shaukat Yousafzai and Kamran Bangash, the meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, IGP Sanaullah Abbassi, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-General Nauman Mahmood, Inspector General Frontier Corps Major-General Adil Yameen, Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir and other civil and military officials.
